Minister's Page FIRST PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH “A Friendly, Inclusive and Welcoming Church”
Dear Friends, As I write this missive at the ocean shore, my spirit continues to rejoice and I automatically smile, as I remember our Easter worship service. How magnificent! How majestic! The pews were full. John outdid himself in the planning and implementation of the music! The choirs and instrumentalists inspired all of us. We were greatly blessed on Easter morning! Palm Sunday and Friend Day were also wonderful times of worship. We had many friends visiting because so many of you did indeed invite “friends” to our church. Please continue to offer this blessing to family, friends, co-workers and neighbors! Shawn and I have recorded a CD of six Christian songs to share with our friends. Three of the songs were recently recorded, and three of them are from 35 years ago. (Let me know if you can tell the difference). The CD is available through the church office. We hope you will enjoy the young and old(er) Bob and Shawn. Now, into May. Joy, Inspiration, Blessings define our upcoming worship events: Sunday – May 3 The Wyoming Seminary Madrigals will be with us. The Deacons’ Brunch follows our service. Sunday – May 10 Mother’s Day. Bring Mom; we have a gift for her. Sunday – May 17 Rabbi Roger Lerner, of Temple B'nai B'rith, will be with us (I will be speaking at the Temple, Friday, May 15, 2009, at 7:30 p.m.). Sunday – May 24 This is Choir Recognition Sunday and Sunday School promotion Sunday. Bring the children. We have experienced a glorious April in our worship. Let’s continue the blessing into May. Bring a friend. I’m looking forward to meeting your friends. Your pastor and friend,
